This policy (together with our terms of use, our cookie policy and any other documents referred to in it) sets out the basis on which any personal data DOHYO collects from you, or that you provide to DOHYO, will be processed. Please read the following carefully to understand our views and practices regarding your personal data and how we will treat it. The terms and definitions used in this policy have the same meaning as in our Terms.

For the purpose of the Data Protection Act 1998 (Act), the data controller is DOHYO LIMITED of Athene House Suite, 86 The Broadway, Mill Hill, London NW7 3TD. This means that we decide what we do with your personal data.

By using (Platform) and the services we offer via the Platform (Services), you are agreeing to be bound by this policy in respect of the information collected about you via the Platform.

  1. Information we may collect from you
    • We may collect and process the following data about you:
      • certain information required to register with the Platform including your username, first and last name, telephone number and mobile number together with some basic security information;
      • your email address and password;
      • billing information such as your payment billing address, card number and expiry date;
      • information required by our nominated payment processor;
      • information that you provide when you log-in and use the Platform through third party service providers (for example, Facebook or Twitter);
      • other information about you that you voluntarily supply to us by filling out your profile page for example, a personal description or photograph;
      • if you contact us, we may keep a record of that correspondence;
      • information that you provide by sending us emails or by filling in forms on the Platform. We may also ask you for information when you report a problem with the Platform;
      • details of any competitions that you create or enter using the Services;
      • information that you provide when you participate in our discussion boards, chat rooms, interactive services, or other social media functions;
      • technical information, including the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer, mobile device or portable device (together referred to as the Device) to the Internet, your login information, browser type and version, time zone setting, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform; or
      • information about your visit to the Platform, including the full Uniform Resource Locators (URL) clickstream to, through and from our site (including date and time); traffic data, location data, webshops and other communication data (including where you communicate with other DOHYO users); attribution tracking data and user behaviour data; products you viewed or searched for; page response times, download errors, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information (such as scrolling, clicks, and mouse-overs), and methods used to browse away from the page.
    • Although it is not compulsory to give us the information referred to above, if you do not then you cannot register as a member of the Platform or use any of the Services or alternatively your ability to enjoy the Platform will be very restricted.
  2. IP Addresses

We may collect information about your Device including, where available, your IP address, operating system and browser type, for system administration and to report aggregate information to any of our advertisers. This is statistical data about our users’ browsing actions and patterns, and does not identify any individual and is not linked to any of your personal information.

In order to provide you with the best service, we use cookies to distinguish you from other DOHYO users. This helps us to provide you with an efficient process and positive experience when you use or otherwise access the Platform and also allows us to improve our Services.   1. Where we store your personal data
    • The data that we collect from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside the European Economic Area (EEA). It may also be processed by staff operating outside the EEA who work for us or for one of our suppliers or partners. Such staff may be engaged in, among other things, the processing of your payment details and the provision of support services. By submitting your personal data, you agree to this transfer, storing or processing. DOHYO will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy policy.
    • If we need to process any payments, you may need to provide some necessary details to our nominated payment processors. We will tell you about this at the point we collect that information on the Platform.
    • Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access certain parts of the Platform, you are responsible for keeping that password confidential. Please do not share your password with anyone.
    • DOHYO is very strict with safeguarding your personal information. When you enter sensitive information on your account registration form (or any other forms), we encrypt that information using secure socket layer (SSL) technology.
    • Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet or the cloud is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to the Platform; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will endeavour to use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.
  2. Uses made of the information
    • We use information held about you in the following ways:
      • to ensure that content provided to you as part of the Services is presented in the most effective manner for you and for your Device and to continue to make general improvements to the Platform and the Services we offer;
      • to provide you with information, products or services that you request from us or which we feel may interest you, where you have consented to be contacted for such purposes;
      • to administer any DOHYO competitions;
      • as part of our efforts to keep our Services safe and secure;
      • to enable us to update the DOHYO leader board;
      • to allow you to participate in the interactive features provided as part of the Services, when you choose to do so and where offered;
      • to notify you about changes to the Services;
    • DOHYO users can also register to join the Platform by logging into online accounts you may have with third party service providers (“Third Party Account”), for example Facebook, via our Platform. As part of the functionality of the Platform, you may link your account with that Third Party Account by either: (i) providing your Third Party Account login information to DOHYO; or (ii) allowing DOHYO access to your Third Party Account, as permitted under the applicable terms and conditions that govern your use of each Third Party Account. You warrant that you are entitled to disclose such information to DOHYO.
    • If you have participated in a DOHYO competition or if you post any comments or content on any of the DOHYO community forums, DOHYO will publish that information publicly via the Platform.
    • Your DOHYO profile and DOHYO username (or the username you use if you login through a Third Party Account) will be shared with all other DOHYO users. We will not share your first and last name or email address with other DOHYO users except with your consent or as otherwise provided for in this privacy policy (in most cases this will be a user that is competing in the same competition, another user who is in the same league as you or someone who has also posted to the same forum).
    • We do not disclose information about identifiable individuals to our advertisers, but we may provide them with aggregate information about our users (for example, we may inform them that 50 men aged under 40 have clicked on their advertisement on any given day). We may also use such aggregate information to help advertisers reach the kind of audience they want to target (for example, men in Manchester). We may make use of the personal data we have collected from you to enable us to comply with our advertisers’ wishes by displaying their advertisement to that target audience.
  3. Disclosure of your information
    • We may disclose and share your personal information to any member of our group, which means our subsidiaries, our ultimate holding company and its subsidiaries, as defined in section 1159 of the UK Companies Act 2006.
    • We may disclose your personal information to third parties:
      • in the event that we sell or buy any business or assets, in which case we may disclose your personal data to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets;
      • if our assets or substantially all of our assets are acquired by a third party, in which case personal data held by us about our customers will be one of the transferred assets; or
      • if we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation, or in order to enforce or apply our Terms and other agreements; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of DOHYO, our customers or members, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organisations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.
    • We may disclose your personal information to third party companies and individuals to facilitate our Services, to provide the Services on our behalf, to perform Platform-related services (for example, without limitation, maintenance services, payment processing services and improvement of the Platform). If third parties have access, this access is only so that they may perform these tasks on our behalf and they will comply with this policy.
  4. Your rights
    • You have the right to ask us not to process your personal data for marketing purposes. We will inform you (before collecting your data) if we intend to use your data for such purposes or if we intend to disclose your information to any third party for such purposes. You can exercise your right to prevent such processing by checking certain boxes on the forms we use to collect your data. You can also exercise the right at any time by contacting us at
    • You may review, update, correct or delete your personal data held by DOHYO in your account at any time by contacting us at or editing the relevant part of your account. If you would like to cancel your Account, please contact DOHYO or select the “Cancel Account” feature of the Service and we will attempt to accommodate your request. Please note that if you cancel your account, your postings and leader board listing will remain publicly viewable via the Platform.
  5. Linking

Our Platform may contain links to other sites of interest. However, once you have used these links to leave our Platform, note that we do not have any control over those other sites. Therefore we cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide whilst visiting such sites and such sites are not governed by this policy.  You should exercise caution and look at the privacy policy of the sites in question.

  1. Access to information

The Act gives you the right to access information held about you. Your right of access can be exercised in accordance with the Act. Any access request may be subject to a fee of £10 to meet our costs in providing you with details of the information we hold about you.

This Platform and our Services are not directed to individuals under the age of 18 We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from individuals under 18.
